What is the CCF?
The Commission for the Control of INTERPOL's Files is an independent body that INTERPOL points individuals to when they want to know whether a Red Notice has been issued for them.
INTERPOL states that applications are free of charge and treated confidentially.
What can an application ask for?
To find out whether data about you is held, and to challenge it where it does not comply with INTERPOL's rules, including Article 3 of the Constitution and Article 83 of the Rules for Red Notices.
The CCF's own statute sets what it can do and how it works, so we read the current text for your case.
How do we prepare one?
We collect the identity documents, the facts of the underlying case, the legal basis for each argument and the proof, and present them in the form the CCF requires.
We keep your travel and personal plans in view while the application is open.
What should I do first?
Collect identity documents
Passport, residence papers and any name variations the foreign authority may have used.
Write a clear chronology
Dates of the original case, any proceedings and when you first noticed an effect.
Decide the request
Access to data only, or a challenge and deletion request, or both.
Keep copies of everything filed
Your correspondence with the CCF forms part of the record.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a lawyer to apply?
You may apply yourself, but a well-prepared file with legal argument usually helps. We tell you honestly what is realistic.
Does the CCF cancel notices itself?
That depends on the CCF's statute and the facts. Check the current text, which we review for your case.
